Arrrival in France, August 28

We arrived at the airport on August 28. After the long flight, I was not as sharp as a tack, so was perplexed when I realized our rental car was a stick, and we had to negotiate a drive in Paris. Onward and upward!

Later, we arrived in an exurb of Paris, Hourdan, our first stop in France, at about 4:00 PM. There we found a little hotel, and took a walk to unwind. We wanted to be sure to stay awake till the evening, so we would wake at a normal time. This is a building we saw. As well, there was a ruin of a castle. We managed to find a bite to eat, and keep ourselves awake till about 8:00. We were anticipating a great, deep sleep after almost 24 hours awake. The kind of sleep you can feel, the kind children enjoy. Sleeeep, sleeeep, sleee.....
