Sub #7 Restaurant Review

This little shop has a studied unprepossessing nature. When I first went in I thought too much so.

But after eating here a couple of times, I admire that they maintain the difficult but important concept attribute, balance.

The sandwiches are little, portable, deliciously contrived works of art. Odd, unusual combinations, all costing $9. Seems a tad high till you bite into real gourmet bread not too crispy-not too soft with some carefully cooked, marinated, seasoned ingredients that you may not have ever eaten in a sandwich. Almost Haute Cuisine on bread, brought back to earth by the stark post industrial simplicity of the decor and urban-hip staff.

Does it make sense on paper? No. It does in person. We are already regulars.
