The other day I read that in Mesopotamia over 4000years ago one of the resolutions that was frequently cited was to return borrowed tools. Not much progress in the human condition in the ensuing 4 millennia, right?
I used to make a big deal about each year's objectives, trying to improve the arc of my life. I guess they had an impact. In the narrow areas I was capable of wanting to improve.
Today I realized I am getting older. I looked back more than forward, and realized my daily, weekly resolutions are more important than an annual one. Maybe taking life in more modest chunks.
