Byline Maryvonne: My friend Sherry has 2 lamas; Bella and Keepsake. Bella loves people and gives soft kisses with her silky nose. When you rub the sides of her face she lowers her large eye lids with pleasure. She is very inquisitive and tried to chew my hat! But lamas are not like goats; they don't eat clothing nor home work. They eat grass mainly. I scooped poop for the garden; it does not smell, does not attract flies. I spread the lama gold in some selected spots in the vegie garden today and am eagerly waiting the results...
Keepsake was very timid and we could touch her only when she ate.
I am looking forward to visiting the lamas again!

In French Llama is spelled with one "L". In native tongue (Kelly, jump in here as the Spanish expert) it is spelled with two "L"s. Must be pronounced "Yama", so likely a precursor to Yamaha? And in English: "One-L Lama, he's a priest, two-L llama, he's a beast."- Ogden Nash
Welcome to the world wide web, v2.0 Maryvonne!
and Alpacas is spelled "Alpagas" in French. Weird hein?
Sounds nice. A far cry from the bleeting goats and sad-looking skinny chickens that roam all over my village.
Animal poo makes great composting layers too. Now that you guys have so much veggie material you could really make some good soil.
Yes, we are all over it. Composter is going strong, and we hope to make some good soil for next year. The soil we bought for the vege garden seems to not work. Seeds planted in the sand are doing well, those in the so-called compost mix have a hard time sprouting. We are hoping to make enough soil to ammend it. We are going to test it on corn, the new OIL. We hope to be able to eat some of the sweet, golden kernels this fall, but can't afford to buy it anymore.
I think you guys should come out of retirement you seem to have too much time on your hands
