Recession brings rational thinking

We have been reading the papers lately, and the breathless reporting has been, well, breathless. This morning we learned that some families have had to reassess their spending priorities. Yes, apparently the press thinks that when people spend less to go out to eat, or cut their own wood, or pay down their credit cards, it is newsworthy and is a worthy lead in to a story.

One can't help but be amused by the insularity of a media that is so struck by common sense actions that they use it to show how deep the recession is.
