Dessert Camping

We headed into the dessert to get a little dryness and warmth. The day we arrived was raining, but the second day broke clear. It stayed sunny, warm and windy all the time we were there. Very pleasant!
We made the most of it, riding, walking for miles. The hills are great fun to climb, and yield big, wide views of the valley floor and surrounding ring of mountains. Very pleasant hiking indeed. Disappointed to see no snakes or scorpions, though for Maxie's sake it is just as well. She is not cautious about crevices and holes.

It was so nice to be able to let her off leash to run all day. She was grinning all day long.
