Plunkin Shack

One of our favorite "dives", the Plunkin Shack is a tiny old place run
by a couple of enterprising young women.  They do what they can is a very limited kitchen, making food fresh and from scratch as much as possible.  We stopped in on Saturday, when breakfast is served all day.  I had the sausage gravy and biscuits, which has a good and well deserved reputation.  The gravy is from scratch, made from sausage dripping.  I know, I know, what else?  Most places use an instant white gravy mix, because they are lazy and don't understand food cost.  But at Plunkin Shack, the work translates to a busy little dining room due to good food.  Also, the salmon burger is really, really good.  I can't forgive em for no fries, but the salad sides are good.  Go there, we do so often.
